Energy conservation process
The E Group offers energy management services using a four-step process:
Evaluation Discovery Request for Proposal (RFP) Implementation/verification
Step 1 - Evaluation Utility bills are great sources of information. In addition to utility and tariff information, usage patterns and irregularities can help identify possible consumption issues.
Step 2 - Discovery We'll perform an energy audit. The initial steps of the audit generally focus on non-production, or ancillary, areas of energy consumption, such as compressed air, lighting and HVAC. Of course, if obvious production-related opportunities are observed, they also will be addressed.
At the end of this process, a report will describe each energy-conservation management (ECM) opportunity found by the auditor. For each opportunity, an estimated cost to implement and potential savings will be provided.
Step 3 - RFP For ECM opportunities with which the client decides to proceed, an RFP will be developed and selected vendors - those with the necessary qualifications and history of implementing the ECM - will be asked to provide a quote.
RFP responses will be collected and reviewed with the client. During this review, options associated with each response will be evaluated to ensure the customer attains the best solution. This is another point where the client makes the decision as to whether or not to proceed.
For selected ECMs, the client can establish a baseline that can be used to measure future success.
Step 4 - Implementation/verification The client contracts with the selected vendor to implement the ECM. If the client requests, The E Group can provide verification that the vendor-installed ECM is operating as specified.
